LATERAL PARTNER – CHAIR OF DISPUTE RESOLUTION DEPARTMENT

  • Lateral Partners
  • A lawyer’s lawyer: LOVES depositions, court, briefing, trial, etc.
  • Substantial experience practicing design and construction law
  • Substantial 1st Chair mediation, arbitration, and litigation experience
  • Substantial experience: Law and Chancery Divisions, Cook County Circuit Court
  • Substantial experience: arbitration and mediation through AAA, JAMS, etc.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience with Illinois mechanics lien claims
  • Substantial acumen around electronic discovery, implementing litigation holds
  • Substantial knowledge of professional ethics rules, emphasis on conflict checks
  • Ability to run lawsuits from complaint drafting through trial with NO oversight  
  • Ability to craft/implement winning strategies/tactics with NO oversight 
  • Ability to manage Dispute Resolution Department and all litigation attorneys
  • Ability to temporarily manage all firm operations/staff on occasion
  • Ability to successfully manage client relationships with NO oversight 
  • Track record of successfully mentoring, managing younger attorneys

ASSOCIATE – TRANSACTIONS DEPARTMENT

  • Junior Associate for Contract Negotiation
  • Work very closely with Jeremy Baker in contract drafting

  • Ability to execute routine transactional tasks with minimal oversight

  • Oversee all law firm administrative and operations functions
  • Ideal candidate will develop into chief operating officer (COO)
  • Supervise Financial, Hiring, Marketing and Other Departments
  • Responsible to develop and implement processes and procedures

  • Select, purchase, implement law practice management software
  • Fanatical attention to detail, quality and hard work is mandatory

  • Minimum 5 years prior relevant experience law firm experience
  • BA degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
  • This is a full-time position (occasional remote work is acceptable)

PARALEGAL

  • Provide general paralegal-level support for attorneys

LAW CLERK

  • $25/hour starting pay, up to twenty hours per week

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

  • $45,000 starting salary, plus performance-based compensation
  • Compensation package can include PTO, 401K, Health Insurance

Candidates might be asked to serve as an independent contractor (1099) for an initial period before transitioning to a firm employee (W2).
